Hello, my name is Caroline.
My partner, Jean-Luc, and I, love meeting people and will be delighted to welcome you to Marcq en Baroeul a neighbouring town of Lille, the capital of Flanders. I have a dual French and English nationality and considerable experience teaching French to all sorts of people from beginner to advanced level.
I have an extensive experience as a French tutor for adults; my competence also includes business-related language. Furthermore, my many volunteering activities, working in the development of educational programs in Burkina Faso and Senegal have led me to have a great ability in communication, and I’m also much more flexible. I teach any level of French, from beginners to advanced students, and all my courses are organized according to your aims and goals.
I always build a program to help you reach your aims, based on communication, and also with exercises to reinforce points that need to be improved upon. In my opinion, the immersion stay is the best way to improve your French from the grammar to the conversation, and moreover you’ll be able to practice the language in an authentic manner through a combination of speaking and culture.
The lessons are always in French but, since I’m bilingual — I also speak English, I could help you with grammatical comprehension or with some English expressions too. We will speak and interact as much as possible during our lessons and, at the same time, we will share some delicious recipes and we will discover the region together with me as your guide. During your homestay French immersion in Lille, you will have your French classes in the morning. If you come with a friend and you have the same level of French, we could have lessons as small groups. I’ll use all my competences to insure you get to master the French language as quickly as possible.

Welcome to Lille. We live in the heart of the city center and, if you feel like going to watch an “art et essai” movie, the cinema is right outside our building’s door. During your homestay French immersion in Lille I will take you to explore the ancient part of the town and its picturesque alleys on foot or by bicycle.
We could also take part in some wine-tasting given by a professional of “Vins en Nord” and, if you like, the Tourist Office organizes a gourmet walking tour of the historic area of Lille enlivened by some delicious foods in selected shops.
You will, of course, also be invited to join us in any activities and outings with our friends and family thus providing you with an opportunity to practice French with people other than Jean-Luc and myself.
There’s a lot to do here. The swimming pool, the gym and walking in the old part of the city will offer you the possibility to practice sport. Plus we could also go to the market together in order to prepare a delicious meal. In conclusion, if you want to extend your stay, we would also have the opportunity to visit the region, hike in the Flanders, and why not also have a francophone daytrip also in Belgium?
