Spring at Caroline’s in Occitania
Hello friends!
Today we’re following the stay of Roger, a New York stage director who spent 15 days with Caroline and her family, seizing the opportunity to improve his French while participating in the various activities that the small town of Pézenas offers during the spring.
Pézenas is a historic town located in the department of Hérault, in the south of France. It is a popular tourist destination for its architectural heritage and its half-timbered houses dating from the 17th century. Pézenas was a thriving commercial center in the Middle Ages and has preserved many historic buildings such as churches, mansions and fountains.
There is also the Molière festival, dedicated to the great playwright who stayed in Pézenas for a few years in the middle of the 17th century.
Plays, open-air shows, the city lives at the pace of Molière for several weeks to the great joy of our smiling Roger!
Caroline also showed her student the wonders of her region along the water between Sète and Marseillan.
In addition, to perfect her learning, she prepared a program adapted for Roger according to his expectations, with time dedicated to grammar and French civilization. Over the course of the days, her fluency and ease in speaking improved significantly.
Discovery of Sète, the Venice of Languedoc and its culinary specialties. Then visit the pretty little port of Marseillan, its oyster beds on the Etang de Thau and a family tasting session!
