YOUR HOME STAY FRENCH IMMERSION IN BRITTANY
I think that immersion remains the best way to discover a language and improve it effectively. The constant contact with French people and the discovery of French culture make it a unique and unrivalled experience. Meetings during activities with native speakers or when sharing with my family allow a natural and enriching interaction for you as well as for us and our children.
Your bedroom is upstairs with a double bed (160×200) and an optional private bathroom downstairs. The room has a desk and chest of drawers. You can come as a couple or with a child, who can be accommodated in a separate extra bed. Breakfast will be shared in the dining room or on the terrace, weather permitting.
Discovering the region and its heritage is an essential part of the immersion.
Visits for educational or tourist purposes, meetings with local craftsmen, walks in the Landes de Lanvaux… there are plenty of activities on offer.French gastronomy is also an important part of our culture, and it goes without saying that we want to share it with our students. We’ll cook for you and even with you if you like. We can also visit local markets to discover regional products and have the opportunity to practise the language. We can cater for dietary requirements and allergies during your half-board or full-board stay, as you wish.We are non-smoking, but you can smoke outside if you wish.
In the heart of the forest, you’ll enjoy the peace and quiet and the contact with nature.
My name is Coralyne and I’ve been teaching foreigners since 2006. I started out as a French assistant in a secondary school in England before returning to France to work in language schools for teenagers and adults. My passion for the French language and the desire to offer a unique experience to students motivated me to open the door of my home to people wishing to discover our beautiful language.
LEARNING FRENCH
I now have a good deal of experience as a French teacher for foreigners. I’ve worked with students of different nationalities and levels, which means I’m very adaptable. Learning the language must also be fun and developed in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The lessons will be tailored to your needs and requirements, which we will discuss beforehand.
Lessons will take place in the office or on the terrace, weather permitting, every morning. All skills will be covered in order to guarantee a complete learning of the language.
ACTIVITIES
I’ll be your guide as you discover the typical villages in the area. I’ll take you to Josselin, where you can visit its emblematic castle and stroll through the streets of the medieval suburb. A little further on, the village of Rochefort-en-Terre, a small town full of character, will introduce you to its exceptional heritage (its castle, fortifications and church, for example) and its small shops and local craftsmen. This small village offers many events throughout the year: the fantastic festival, the Christmas illuminations…
In the Gulf of Morbihan, Vannes, its port and medieval quarter make it a town rich in history. Discover the corbelling of the houses in the fortified town. Stroll along the ramparts and through the flower-lined alleys of the town. Admire the port from the 17th-century Porte St Vincent. Enjoy a galette and a delicious crêpe in one of the town’s famous restaurants. There are plenty of options in Vannes to suit all tastes.
In the ria of the Gulf of Morbihan, admire the charming port of St Goustan, to be discovered after a visit to the famous Auray market where you will have discovered the local producers.
Moustoir-Ac, where our house is located, is famous for the many megaliths that populate its forests. These include the Kermarquer menhir, the largest in the département and a listed monument. The paths are accessible on foot from the house, for short or long hikes.
And what would immersion be without meeting the local craftspeople? We can taste the excellent cider from the Cidrerie du Golfe in Arradon or visit the Maison du Cidre. Discover the Brume microbrewery in Theix, where Léo and Mel will be talking passionately about their products. Taste the delicious honey from Abeilles de Lanvaux in St-Jean-Brévelay after a tour of the farm. The region is full of craftspeople ready to open their doors and share their products and expertise with you.
