You will have a room that you can share with a person of your choice, as well as an adjoining private bathroom. Of course, the living room, terrace and kitchen will be wide open to the guests!
 

YOUR HOME STAY FRENCH IMMERSION IN GRAND VERSAILLES

Sharing the authentic life of your hosts, asking them your questions, visiting places that surround you, living “à la française”, is the basis for a successful immersion. On this basis, the tailor-made teaching of a qualified and experienced teacher will allow you to build your learning through his benevolent listening, his sense of transmission and his competence.

Your room and bathroom are located independently in our apartment. It has a single bed that can be split. As we love antique furniture, it is furnished with a pretty Norman wardrobe and an antique desk table. Two armchairs and two bedside tables, as well as a small TV complete its furniture. It opens, after a small corridor, onto our living room and balcony where it is nice to read, have tea or coffee and chat!

My husband and I welcome you together. We like to share our passions. We both love music and concerts, art, exhibitions, museums, cinema and theatre. History is also one of our great passions. Just like gastronomy! I cook with pleasure every day, traditional, regional or more modern dishes. I use fresh and seasonal products bought at the market. If one of our French dishes tempts you, why not prepare it together.

I have always had a love of the French language, a passion for teaching and transmission. I am persevering and empathetic.

I have a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in comparative French-English literature, I have more than 35 years of experience in teaching French as a Foreign Language. I have taught students of all ages and nationalities.

I teach in class of course, but any opportunity is to make good use of my teaching: meals, walks, visits, conversations, etc. I know how to correct when necessary and not interrupt a conversation and then come back to an error.

I use many methods adapted to the need and level of each one. You will be active and solicited at every moment spent together. So you will correct your mistakes and speak easily to participate in a conversation with pleasure.

ACTIVITIES

We will be your private guides in the visits of the countless places you would like to discover in Paris.

In Versailles, the castle itself and its gardens and park offer multiple visits, in particular weekends in summer where fonction the King’s fountains, set to music of his time. We will also make you discover a more secret city full of charm and mysteries. Around Versailles, a constellation of castles are to be admired, such as Vaux-le-Vicomte (which served as a model for Versailles), Dampierre, Breteuil (where the tales of Charles Perrault are presented), Villarceaux and its wonderful gardens. In each of their parks we like to organize picnics on fine days.

If you love Monet, we will accompany you to Giverny, the house and the enchanted garden of this painter; then, in Paris, you will go to the Marmottan and Orangerie museums to admire some of his famous nynpheas paintings.

Chartres is not far from us and we will be happy to make you discover this pretty city and its cathedral famous among all. Its stained glass windows are splendid and the “bleu” of Chartres is matchless.
For lovers of parks and flowers, at the gates of Paris, you should go for a walk in the gardens of Bagatelle and Albert Kahn, where you can admire endless collections of roses and azaleas.
