Come and improve your French while staying with a French family right at the doorstep of Paris, in the Val de la Marne, where the Parisians used to go on holiday at the beginning of the 20th century. You will find beautiful historic houses, nature, and wildlife, as well as typical restaurants called guinguettes and forests. Mireille, your hostess, will know how to show you the highlights of Paris, museums, and tourist places, as well as introduce you to the smallest French department where the Parisians used to have fun and rest in the past. Mireille will offer you French lessons according to your needs, interests, and level. In a charming little semi-detached house with a sunny garden, Mireille will share her daily life with her husband and student daughter, offering you a double bedroom with a king-size bed and a family-shared bathroom. Come and enjoy this peaceful environment while having access to cultural visits and sightseeing, as well as relaxing times on the riverside or in the forests.

YOUR HOME STAY FRENCH IMMERSION IN LA QUEUE EN BRIE

Having an immersive experience while staying with a French family is the best way to improve your knowledge of the language and the French way of life and culture. You will have some great welcome times while you discover the area and the best attributes of the city of Paris. I will do my best to answer your studying needs and cultural expectations. Don’t hesitate to let me know in advance, and don’t forget! There are no silly requests! Once, a Japanese student asked to work in a flower shop, and she did a full day on Valentine’s Day! You will stay in a sunny double bedroom with a king-size bed, looking at the garden, and you can also stay with a partner or friend. You will have your meals with the family and your lessons in a stunning dining room with an open kitchen or sitting in the sunny sitting area in the garden.

If you wish, you can also have lunch in one of the nearby welcoming restaurants offering all types of food. We don’t smoke, but you can in the garden. We have two small dogs that can be kept away from you if asked. You will be able to borrow our bicycles and go for rides in the forests, or take a horseback riding lesson at my daughter and husband’s horseback riding center. There is also a squash and tennis court a 10-minute walk away, as well as a swimming pool or stadium. Here, you will be able to combine Paris sightseeing with relaxing times in nature.

I will be your tour guide around Paris, its monuments, and its museums. We can also enjoy discovering beautiful architecture by looking at old 20th-century houses on the side of the river Marne, walking or going on boat trips when spring is coming, having a drink or a typical lunch in one of the “Guinguettes” old restaurants looking at the river, and why not dance in an afternoon party? We will also be able to go on bike rides in the forest or on walks. I can also organize for you a squash, tennis, or horseriding session according to your wishes and abilities, or I can go with you for a swim in the nearby swimming pools. Not far away, we can also enjoy relaxing spa time in the Marne La Vallee Aquatonic Center and/or go shopping in the Val d’Europe huge shopping center of the outdoor Vallee Village, where you will find brand boutiques. And if you feel like a child again, why not spend a day at Disney? Our region has a lot to offer in terms of culture, sports, or natural activities. In summer and hot weather, we can go to Versailles and look at the great Water Fountain show, go to the Eiffel Tower to admire the lights of Paris, or walk in the Vincennes Zoo, as well as have a picnic and a beer or drink.
