Immersion course at the teacher’s home

Come and improve your French while staying with a French family right at the doorstep of southern Burgundy, enjoying the rich heritage of Burgundy, and its famous wine and lanscapes. Mireille will offer you French lessons tailored to your needs, interests, and academic level. Living in a charming, single-store detached house, with a big sunny garden, you will share Mireille, her husband and their daughter in her twenties’ daily life.

Mireille can offer you a double room overlooking the garden with a small private terrace, or a smaller (but fresh in the summer) single bedroom with a double bed on the north side of the house. You will share the family bathroom. Come and enjoy this peaceful suburb of Mâcon, with its old castle and its lake where one can swim right at the end of the street. You will also have the opportunity to explore the famous vineyards, go hiking, visit charming surrounding towns, and even take a trip to the beautiful city of Lyon.

YOUR HOME STAY FRENCH IMMERSION IN MÂCON

Having an immersive experience while staying with a French family is the best way to improve your knowledge of the language and the French way of life and culture. You will have some great times while discovering the area. You will stay in a sunny double bedroom, alone or as a couple, opening out on the quiet garden with a king-size bed, or in a smaller single bedroom with a double bed , cooler in the summer you will be able to relax in the garden, walk or ride borrowing one of our bikes to the castle and the lake where one can swim in the summer.

There are a lot of hiking paths in the Macon mounts with great Burgundy wine tours. If you like horses, you will be able to meet my daughters’ 2 horses. You will be able do discover little burgundy villages and towns with great Abbeys. and even go to Lyon if you wish.

LEARNING FRENCH

My diverse and rich professional experience allows me to quickly adapt to learners’ needs, expectations and goals.

I love sharing my passion for language learning and teaching in a relaxed and welcoming environment, using a variety of engaging methods.

As I work with young children for most of the year, I particularly enjoy teaching through activities such as cooking workshops, arts and crafts, and board games.

These moments make learning both enjoyable and meaningful. We can cook together, create things, or learn while playing.

We can also switch roles: you can share your favourite recipes or creative hobbies with me — in French, of course!

And if you enjoy board games, we’ll definitely have fun playing together!

ACTIVITIES

You will have the opportunity to visit the beautiful city of Lyon, once the capital of Gaul and now a renowned centre of French gastronomy.

Closer by, you can explore the town of Cluny and its famous abbey, the charming riverside town of Tournus on the banks of the Saône, or Beaune, well known for its historic Hospices.

You can also discover the vineyards of Burgundy on foot, by car or even on horseback, and enjoy wine tours and tastings.

Finally, you can visit the nearby town of Mâcon and follow in the footsteps of the great writer Alphonse de Lamartine.
