Your accommodation is in our comfortable sweet house in the center of a small village. On the ground floor, you will have your own room with a double bed, a desk and private bathroom. Family life takes place in the common living-room on the first floor as well as in the garden.

This setting provides the perfect ambiance for effective learning of French: thanks to the workspace in the classroom, where you can concentrate and learn, and the various outdoor places for relaxation.

YOUR HOME STAY FRENCH IMMERSION IN AVIGNON

When you arrive, I will pick you up at the TGV station in Avignon or the one from my village. On request, at Marseille-Provence Airport.

 

My house is located in a quiet area of Saint Saturnin les Avignon. You will stay in your own comfortable room with a double bed, a desk and a private bathroom with toilet. The classes will take place in my work place, a space dedicated to work with a small library, or outside on the terrace.

At the house, you will meet my son Brivael. I love my area and I will be glad to share with you my passion of France and Provence.I will make the meals and we will eat it together taken full board or half-board. So, if you want, I will give you some lovely recepies of French cuisine.

 

 

If you wish, we can also cook together. I will make you discover typical local products and flavours. It is also possible to barbecuel and we will nearly always eat outside. During your immersion stay, we can also go to the market together to buy local products for the preparation of meals.

 

Bonjour ! My name is Celtina, S.L.Immersion manager, coordinator and teacher. I’m glad to organise for you the perfect programme of authentic immersion language homestay.
I have been teaching French for foreigners for more than 15 years in schools in Lyon and Switzerland but I wanted to offer more authentic, intensive stays that are different to other learning centres. In 2012, I set up S.L.Immersion and as my French courses in Provence became known and very popular due to the success with students, I expanded the offers in France and Swiss with the help of local teachers, passionate about their region and the French language.

LEARNING FRENCH

Hence, I have personally selected each teacher with high certification and experience in teaching. Our programs provide high quality stay in total immersion with private and adaptable courses: a combination of Learning, Culture, Exchange with the local, and Authenticity.

My teaching method is based on an assessment of your needs at the beginning of the course and on activities of comprehension and expression. The focus is always on communication and on speaking in French. I will support you in your progress and adjust the lessons accordingly. If you have professional needs, we will develop your program together based on specific themes. Anyway I will tailor made your program for you, you will boost your French in no time.

ACTIVITIES

Activities will be the opportunity to practice French with our teacher as a coach. You will improve your French fast, and get more confidence in speaking. You will meet the local people (artist, artisan…) while you will enjoy your immersion in Provençal culture.

I would like to share with you one article written by one of my students, who had the opportunity to enjoy Provençal life during her homestay with me.

“The Provence is full of small, typical villages with winding roads,  stone houses. We have visited some villages in the area of Roussillon, Gordes, Isle sur Sorgue and Fontaine Vaucluse.
Roussillon is a village on a hill. One has an incredible view of the wooded valley below. The ground consists of orange, red and yellow ochre. We did a short hike around the ochre boulders. Hence our shoes and hands are now covered with ochre dust. Afterwards we entered the forest and did another little hike. The view was very nice because one could see the green trees against the orange canyon walls.
Near Roussillon and Gordes is the Senanque abbey with its lavender fields. Although the lavender was not in flower anymore one could smell the wonderful perfume. Mmh!
The weekends we visited Isle sur la Sorgue. Each Sunday there is a market where we can buy specialities of the Provence, like olives, terrines and sausages, pottery in lively colours with yellow, blue and green and, of course, antiques. Isle sur la Sorgue is the third largest European city for antiques behind London and Paris! Not too bad ! Isn’t it ?
Finaly, Fontaine de Vaucluse, where the spring of the river Sorgue is. We walked to the spring of the Sorgue which is situated in a grotto in the mountain. Did you know that the Commandant Jacques Coustaud explored the spring? Above, at the castle ruin we enjoyed the nice panorama of Fontaine Vaucluse, the forest and all of the valley which is surrounded by white cliff.
These visits have been very interesting and they enriched our stay and we think that every person that comes to the Provence should visit these beautiful villages.”
