I have a dual French and English nationality and considerable experience teaching French to all sorts of people from beginner to advanced level.
Together, we will define your needs and goals. Based on a tailor-made programme, your lessons will be fun and very interactive, enabling you to develop your grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation accuracy while conversing in French all the time.
However certain explanations can be given in English if necessary.
Your accomodation and meals
Our apartment is located on the top floor of a typical « Art Déco » building in the heart of the city centre and pedestrian area. We are surrounded by shops, restaurants, cinemas and theatres, all within walking distance !
You will have a great view of the roof tops of Lille from our balcony.
Our guest room is very comfortable and has its own private bathroom.
We will have breakfast and lunch together. You will be able to taste typical French and regional cooking made from fresh and mainly organic products bought at the local market. We can go shopping for food and cook together if you are interested in learning some French recipes.
In the evenings, you can either have dinner in one of the many restaurants of the area or use our kitchen to prepare your own food.
I will be delighted to show you all the interesting sites and landmarks, Lille and our region have to offer. According to your wishes and personal interests, we can visit the historical area of the city on foot or by bike, go for a wine and food tasting tour of local gourmet shops, visit the great museums of Lille and the region (Le Musée de la Piscine, l’Hospice Comtesse, Le Louvre Lens..), go hiking in the „Mont de Flandres“ or along the coast between Calais and Boulogne.
Nearby Belgium also offers many interesting opportunities.
You will, of course, also be invited to join us in any activities and outings with our friends and family thus providing you with an opportunity to practice French with people other than Jean-Luc and myself.
In a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, the constant French conversation during your lessons, activities and meals will undoubtably enable you to progress a lot and feel more comfortable in the language.
