Living in a traditional house in the heart of the historic village, she will welcome you into a warm and friendly environment and invite you to share her daily life. You will have access to a double bedroom, a private lounge, and a private bathroom. Whether you come alone or with one or two companions, you will fully enjoy the relaxed Occitan way of life while learning French through immersion, in a region where tradition and modernity, tranquility and vitality, nature and urban life come together harmoniously.

In my view, staying in my home for a French immersion experience is one of the most effective ways to improve your French naturally by combining language learning, cultural discovery, and meaningful human connections. We will focus on conversation as much as possible, not only during your French lessons but also around the table and while exploring the region together. Please feel free to share your expectations, projects, and specific needs so that I can tailor your learning experience and create a fully personalized program.

You will stay in a spacious and comfortable bedroom overlooking the village, equipped with a double bed and a private bathroom. You will also have access to a private lounge where you can relax at your leisure. Up to three guests can be accommodated, including families with children, as two or three bedrooms are available depending on the size of your group.

You will also enjoy breakfast in a warm and light-filled dining room opening onto a green terrace. Sharing meals with you will be a real pleasure, as they are an integral part of the French immersion experience. If you prefer, you may also have lunch at the village café-restaurant, the local crêperie, or purchase a snack for a picnic.

I prepare generous, organic, home-cooked meals and can easily accommodate a variety of dietary requirements, including vegetarian, gluten-free, and lactose-free diets. For me, cooking is a wonderful way to communicate and connect with others. If you wish, we can also visit the local market together and prepare regional specialties, providing an excellent opportunity to practice French in authentic everyday situations.

Learning French

In a warm and supportive atmosphere, I offer personalized French lessons for all levels, from beginner to advanced. I use modern, interactive teaching methods that encourage natural and lasting progress. Each program is fully tailored to your individual needs, with a strong focus on spoken communication while reinforcing areas for improvement through targeted activities and exercises.

French lessons take place each morning, either in the living room, the garden, or on the terrace when weather permits. If you are accompanied by a family member or friend with a similar level of French, lessons can also be organized in a small group setting. My goal is to help you learn French through immersion, make steady progress, and quickly gain confidence using French in everyday situations.

Activities

Claret, my village, is located about 30 kilometers (19 miles) from Montpellier, in the heart of the Occitanie region. Away from mass tourism, it has preserved its authenticity and local traditions.

During your stay, you can discover the Halle du Verre, a cultural center dedicated to the history of glassmaking in the Mediterranean, as well as the cade oil distillery, which is unique in Europe.

We will also visit several charming villages, including Les Matelles and Sommières, both renowned for their medieval heritage and their typically southern French atmosphere.

The region is also famous for its Pic Saint-Loup wines, one of the most prestigious wine appellations in the Languedoc area. Depending on your interests, we can meet local winemakers and take part in wine tastings.

Close to the village, a small lake and numerous walking trails offer wonderful opportunities for swimming, relaxing, and enjoying nature. As a hiking enthusiast, I would be delighted to accompany you on walks to discover the local wildlife, flora, and landscapes.

I can also recommend self-guided hikes, organize climbing outings, or provide bicycles so that you can explore the surrounding countryside at your own pace.

Finally, for guests staying over the weekend, an excursion to the Mediterranean coast or to the charming town of Sète can be arranged. All of these activities provide excellent opportunities to practice French through immersion while discovering the cultural and natural richness of Occitanie.
